SOUNDS DELICIOUS PRESENTS… Neil Murray w/ support from Paul H Greene
Dinner and Show
Secret venue / Jervis Bay Area
Doors 7pm $70
Neil Murrays work collectively describes an inner landscape to the heart of the nation – a journey which has done much to deepen and strengthen Australia’s contemporary musical heritage.
He first appeared in the early eighties as a founding member of the Warumpi Band, which over three albums (Big Name, No Blankets, Go Bush, Too Much Humbug) and https://youtu.be/bortd3V5aXQtwenty years of performing propelled contemporary indigenous music into mainstream Australia, yielding such classic songs as My Island Home, Blackfella Whitefella, Fitzroy Crossing, Jailanguru Pakarnu, Stompin Ground, From the Bush and Waru.
Neil Murray has since become one of Australia’s most respected and influential singer/songwriters and has enjoyed a solo career since 1989. He has released twelve solo albums– “Calm & Crystal Clear”, “These Hands”, “Dust”, “The Wondering Kind”, “Going The Distance”, “About Time” (a 2CD retrospective compilation) “Spoken”, “2Songmen” (live with Shane Howard in Darwin) ,“Overnighter”, “Witness”, “Sing the Song- the essential Neil Murray”, and his latest release “Bring Thunder & Rain”.
Neil Murray’s song writing is diverse- from the rollicking “Good Light in Broome“, to the environmental urgency of “Burning land” to the prayerful “Native Born”, the roots groove of “Long Grass Band”, the endurance of love in “Over the Moon”, the journeyman monologues of “Lights of Hay” and “Where my people go”, the reflection on mortality in High On a Hill, and the contemplation of place in Burrumbeep Hill and Tjapwurrung Country.
The Food being inspired by Neil Murray and his music is a tricky one, as to capture the entire Australian spirit in a meal- but we will be offering Oysters Natural, BBQ Prawn Skewers and pickled Octapus for entre. A choice of Chilli Mussle Bowl or Kangaroo Pie for main with homemade sourdough and garden salad sides. Desert: Lemon Meringue Tart or Jam Lamingtons.

There are many terms people use when describing James Blundell. Icon. Legend. Controversial. Rebel. The truth is James Blundell is all of these things. He is unashamedly honest and comfortable in his own skin. He radiates an enthusiasm for everything that life has to offer and it’s this authenticity that makes him one of the most instantly likable and recognisable artists in Australian music.
Acknowledged by many as the act that single-handedly shaped modern Australian country music by infusing his influences of John Mellencamp, The Band and The Angels with the storytelling ethos of Slim Dusty and his lyrical insight, sharp wit and empathy for the average working man. This combined with his handsome good looks and country charm ensured there was no stopping his success across all demographics.
James will be accompanied by his old friend, producer of his ‘Back To Woolshed Creek’ album, Jervis Bay Local and Sounds Delicious Creator Paul Greene. James and Paul have toured as a duo over the years many times and create a very entertaining combination swaying from delicate to raucous in a heartbeat.
Supporting James will be a relatively new artist Chelsea Basham who’s debut Album ‘I make my own sunshine’ went to Number 1 on the CMC charts. This pocket rocket bubbles with enthusiasm, with a stunning voice, a great sense of humor and beautiful sincerity to her song writing.
This event will transform the Huskisson Community centre into an outback bar with an Australian themed tray service menu with sliders, char grilled squires, niblies and a bar! Only limited places are available, and tickets be pre sales only.
